2. The Perfect Slab Selection

Our extensive collection of wood slabs is handpicked for their unique character and history. With your vision in mind, we guide you through the nuances of each slab, discussing grain patterns, natural imperfections, and the tales they tell, ensuring the chosen slab is a perfect match for your space.

3. Precision Flattening

A flat slab is the foundation of a perfect piece. A masterpiece demands a flawless canvas. We employ state-of-the-art techniques to ensure your slab is impeccably flat, providing a stable foundation for the subsequent steps. Our experts assess each slab's unique characteristics to determine the best flattening approach, ensuring longevity and aesthetic appeal. Some pieces will have areas that aren't perfectly flat to keep thickness or achieve a look. We do however intensely flatten slabs.  

4. Natural Beauty Enhancement

While we cherish the raw allure of wood, we also understand the practicalities of everyday use. Bark, though beautiful, can be abrasive and may detach over time. Our artisans delicately remove the bark when it calls for it, preserving the wood's natural curves and textures. Every strand and fiber is then refined to showcase the wood's authentic beauty. The remaining strands are meticulously cleaned to reveal the wood's true texture.

5. Celebrating the Imperfections

Wood cracks are nature's artwork, and we approach them with reverence. You have the choice:

  • Natural Elegance: Embrace the raw charm of open cracks, letting them narrate their age-old stories.
  • Epoxy Elegance: For those seeking a seamless surface, we use premium epoxy to fill the cracks. This not only enhances the wood's appearance but also fortifies its structure. Our epoxy can be customized to match the wood's hue or contrast it, based on your preference.

6. Artistry of Bow Tie Joints

Bow tie joints are where functionality meets art. These intricate inlays on top or bottom prevent cracks from widening and add a distinctive touch to the piece. Our craftsmen handcraft each bow tie, ensuring it complements the wood's natural patterns while reinforcing its structure.

7. Stability with Steel C-Channels

Typically we do not use these. Everything we do is usually with wood. In cases where we may use them, to ensure your masterpiece stands the test of time, we can integrate steel C-channels. These hidden reinforcements provide unparalleled stability, ensuring your table remains resilient against natural warping tendencies, giving you peace of mind for years to come.

8. The Art of Sanding

Sanding is more than just a step; it's an art form. Our craftsmen dedicate hours to this process, using advanced tools to achieve a silky-smooth finish. This meticulous attention to detail ensures that every inch of the wood is primed to perfection, ready to shine in its final form.

9. The Finishing Symphony

The finish is the crescendo of our crafting process. We finish with high grade catalyzed polyurethane. We also use laquer, varnish, and resin to finish. 
When applicable we use elite hardwax finishes that meld with the wood usually in cases of cutting boards or butchers block, accentuating its natural grains while offering robust protection. This ensures your piece not only looks exquisite but also withstands daily wear and tear with grace.

10. Expert Mounting & Installation

The culmination of our process is when your vision physically takes shape. We mount your creation on a base or legs of your choice, using top-tier fixtures for stability. Every angle, every joint is double-checked, ensuring your piece is not just a work of art but also a beacon of craftsmanship.
